Image of five vignettes depicting a progression of battlefield scenes between the Union 9th Massachusetts Light Artillery Battery and Confederate soldiers in the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War; men on foot and mounted on horses are shown attacking, carrying wounded, around a cook fire, and leaving the battlefield; scenes are captioned, "Opening engagement," Retiring with prolonge," "Shelled out," "Position on the 3rd and 4th July," and "Leaving the field, July 5th."
Single-color print. "J.H. Bufford's Lith. Boston."--text, bottom right margin. "Drawn by Chas. W. Reed."--text, bottom left margin. "Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1864 by C.W. Reed in the clerk's office of the District Court of the District of Mass."--text, bottom center margin.
