Northridge Receiving Hospital, later renamed Northridge Hospital, then Northridge Hospital Medical Center, was founded by Dr. Frederick Gruneck in 1955.
Photograph caption dated November 23, 1963 reads, "Flag Ceremony -- Four Girl Scouts participated in ceremonies at Northridge Hospital, accepting and raising a flag that flew over the Capitol in Washington, D.C. The flag was presented by Congressman James Corman, left, with Mrs. R. E. Curtis, president of the hospital's auxiliary, and Dr. Frederick Gruneck, administrator. The scouts are, from left, Tery [sic] Walters, Carolyn Mellot, Patricia Okkerse and Molly Petrik."
