Photograph article dated July 24, 1963 partially reads, "Animal Regulation Shelter officials Tuesday backed up the smaller of two youngsters who had heard that an ape-like creature was roaming the Woodley-Ave.-Vanowen St. area in Van Nuys...After carefully baiting a spring-trap Monday night at 6737 1/2 Woodley Ave. with a piece of honeydew melon, shelter officials finally caught the vegetarian. A 27 to 30-inch, 15 to 20-pound female rhesus monkey which had been swinging through Van Nuys eucalyptus trees since Sunday night."
