Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated July 24, 1963 partially reads, "Animal Regulation Shelter officials Tuesday backed up the smaller of two youngsters who had heard that an ape-like creature was roaming the Woodley-Ave.-Vanowen St. area in Van Nuys...After carefully baiting a spring-trap Monday night at 6737 1/2 Woodley Ave. with a piece of honeydew melon, shelter officials finally caught the vegetarian. A 27 to 30-inch, 15 to 20-pound female rhesus monkey which had been swinging through Van Nuys eucalyptus trees since Sunday night."
