Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated November 9, 1948 reads, "A lion cub cavorted and rolled before a delighted throng of visitors and photographers today at Griffith Park Zoo. The four pounds of furry softness, still a little wobbly around the knees, is two weeks old. Shown with him is his momma, Tilly, who is 13 or 14 years old, a resident of the zoo for six years. Papa is the famed "flying lion" being so named because his owners, the Gilmore Oil Co., flew him throughout the nation in an advertising campaign."
