Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated June 9, 1962 partially reads, "Yet to carve his initials in filmdom is third generation Buck Beery, son of actor Noah Beery Jr. Buck, who aspires to become a character actor and 'carry out the family tradition,' has to look no farther than the family album to discover the 'why' of his own avid interest. Both his late grand-uncle, Wallace Beery, and his late grandfather, Noah Beery Sr., started out when silent films were the 'craze' and continued to 'draw audiences' up until they died in the '40s. No less immemorable is Buck's maternal grandfather, Buck Jones, early Western star who died an untimely death in the never-to-be-forgotten Cocoanut Grove fire in Boston...Posters and relics from old Beery films cover the walls and rooms of the Beery family's Sherman Oaks home. Each item, ranging from saddles, hats, rugs, kayaks, to Indian masks, Mexican lariats and horse gear, has its own story. With this colorful background and family heritage it seems only natural that this 16-year-old junior at Van Nuys High School would also want to follow in their footsteps."
