Photograph article dated April 19, 1963 partially reads, "A Valley tile setter, Russell Rutter, 19744 Vanowen St., Canoga Park will be one of two representatives from Southern California competing in a statewide contest at Fontana Saturday. The contest will be held at the Italian-American Hall, 9345 Olive St., starting at 11 a.m... California is the first state where tile setting championships have been held and state contests have been staged for the past five years. The contest is limited to apprentices who are under 33 years old and who have had not more than three years apprenticeship."
