Description
Seal fountains in the center of Seal Court, which was originally part of the Lang Art Building, but has since become part of Malott Commons. Seal Court features mosaic murals around the pond created by various students since the 1940s. The seals were originally designed by Lawrence Tenney Stevens, modeled in clay by Jean McBurney, and fired by William Manker, Scripps ceramics professor (1935-47). In 1990, Paul Soldner, Scripps ceramics professor (1957-91), recast the seals in bronze.
