Description
A grove of Monterey pines. A path winds its way between the trees.
"Pinus radiata [Monterey pine] has an extremely narrow natural range: three coastal areas in California (one in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties, one in Monterey County, and one in San Luis Obispo County) and off the coast of Baja California, Mexico (Guadalupe Island and debatably also on Cedros Island). Some natural populations of the species are under protection. Along the California coast it has escaped from cultivation, and from there into southern coastal Oregon it shows signs of naturalizing." From: "Pinus radiata in Flora of North America @ efloras.org" : http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=1&taxon_id=233500951 (accessed 12/08/10).
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPG format using Photoshop CS3.
