Roy Baker, brother of shoe magnate C.H. Baker, built the stadium and sponsored the event from 1927-1930. The stadium later became the site of the Saugus Speedway, located at 22500 Soledad Canyon Road. Practically every noted cowboy and cowgirl of the west has entered the prize contest, according to Roy Baker, sponsor. Here is Paris Williams, female trick rider entered in the event, pictured in action on April 17, 1929.
