Description
A woman in an evening dress from July 1817. She wears a white, empire-waist dress with short puffed sleeves gathered up with a pink rose. Pink roses accent the sleeves and bodice as well. She wears a pearl necklace and earrings, carries a white fan, and wears elbow-length white gloves. The skirt of her dress is long, white, and plain. An overdress of sheer material is hemmed with a double line of white rosettes with pink roses in the center. She wears white shoes and a white hat with a full brim. The hat is adorned with white ribbon and two or three large white feathers. She sits on a red, rectangular bench with gold legs, holding a fan.
