Description
The interior of Sutter’s Fort is the subject of this circa 1920 postcard, published by the California Sales Company of San Francisco. Once identified as the “largest and best fortified fort in California” the venerable structure’s historical significance is beyond question despite the fact that it served as Sutter’s headquarters and the hub of activity in the area for less than a decade.
