Description
"This picture was taken in the early 1920s. My parents Asa and Grace Smith visited here in 1924 on their first date. This was the 'end of the line' because just a few feet west was the entrance to the Rindge Ranch. No one was allowed on their property except with permission. They had armed guards protecting their ranch. Later, Las Flores Inn was changed to the Sea Lion Restaurant where live seals could be fed as an attraction. Today, the restaurant is called Duke's Restaurant." [Editor's Note: Clipping from Malibu Times, October 14, 1957].
