Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Y. Martinez adobe near the old home of John Muir, Pinole Valley, ca.1900. The two-story rancher-style adobe is shown behind the trunks of two trees which are arranged in its front lawn behind a section of post-and-rail fence. The walls of the adobe retain all their spackle and consequently are very brightly colored. In addition to this, wrap-around porches can be seen on both levels of the house. Doors and windows are spaced at regular intervals along both floors of the house. A dirt path can be seen in the foreground of the image, and mountains can be seen in the background.
