Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Original photograph has several stains. Photograph caption dated September 15, 1956 reads "Christ the King Lutheran Church in Reseda, winner of the 1954 Church Architectural Guild of America first place award for design, is one of many Valley churches setting pace in contemporary style. Church was designed by Culver Heaton, A. I. A., of Pasadena. It is temporary sanctuary, seating 150, which can be converted into social hall and Sunday school classrooms, and was built at cost of $25,000. When permanent sanctuary is complete, present structure will be used as chapel. Steep roof supported by slanting wooden columns gives ecclesiastical feeling while maintaining modern-day look." The church is located at 17400 Vanowen Street in Van Nuys.; See images #00145711 through #00145713 for all photos in this series.
