Description
A woman in evening dress for October 1829. Her hair is arranged in upswept loops in back, and ringlets over her ears. Pink flowers with green leaves decorate her hair. She is adorned with pearl teardrop earrings and a double stranded pearl necklace with an ornament in the middle that is diamond shape, with three teardrops hanging from it. The neckline of the dress is almost off the shoulder and it is edged by a wide white ruffle. Her puffed sleeves are short and cuffed with a small, white ruffle. The sleeves, bodice, and skirt of the dress are all light blue. The skirt is trimmed with two rows of narrow ruffles and a wider ruffle below at the hem. A straight-hemmed underskirt shows below the ruffle. She wears elbow length white gloves and holds a white fan in her hands and has a pale yellow shawl draped over her left elbow. She wears white ballet slippers over white stockings.
