Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on July 18, 1969 states: "Emerald Lake in Lassen National Park has been immune to the warm temperatures that have swept over much of Northern California. The lake, still frozen and surrounded by snow, is just below the 8,512-foot summit of Mount Lassen. Meanwhile, back in Sacramento where temperatures have nudged over 100 degrees . . . "
