Photograph caption dated March 14, 1963 reads "The Bookleaves Section of the Women's Breakfast Club is holding annual benefit luncheon, a 'Hat of the Year Party,' today in the Regency Room of the Sheraton West Hotel, Los Angeles. Discussing plans for the event are Mmes. Scott Carter, Burbank, co-chairman, left, and Mrs. Nate Burson, North Hollywood, chairman. Prizes will be given for the most beautiful, original and comical hats. A grand prize will go the the 'Hat of the Year.'"
