Regular cursive.
Margins: top, 4.7 cm.; left, 2.1 cm.; right, 0.5 cm.; bottom, 6 cm.
On verso (along the fibers) address: to Polemon.
Mounted with: P.Tebt.45 (Petition of Demas, [113 B.C.])
Official letter from Polemon, brother of Menches, village secretary of Kerkeosiris, Egypt, to another Polemon, informing him that a collector had been instructed to stop operations at Kerkeosiris for the moment. The text is dated the 3rd year of Ptolemy IX Soter II, 4th of the Egyptian month Choiak (Dec. 23, 115 B.C.)
The identity and functionary capacity of both Polemons is not known. Identifications proposed by Grenfell and Hunt should be treated with great caution.
