Title supplied by cataloger. Photograph article dated April 11, 1963 partially reads, "A Valleyho item called attention to the Four-Footed Foundlings Home where three ladies were caring for 100 lost, unwanted or homeless dogs. We hoped some animal lovers would contribute to keeping the place open, and the dogs alive. The kennel received some financial help, all right, but also, more dogs. The city closed the place for not meeting certain qualifications, and all the dogs are being cared for in other kennels at the ladies' personal expense. And Suzanne Torres-Rioseco, Elba MacDonald and Marguerite Duncan, from left, have been hauled into court, first, before Judge Charles M. Hughes, then before Judge Donald M. Redwine, on three violations of the municipal code. Trial is set for May 20. The women have hired Paul Major as their attorney, and have each posted $25 bail. While they are out on bail they are trying hard to fix up the kennels to meet city requirements. If you want to contribute at least moral support, stop by 7419 Fulton St., just north of Sherman Way. But, please, no more dogs right now."
