Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated May 3, 1962 partially reads, "Charles Ward, 77-year-old San Fernando man charged with molesting one of two 6-year-old girls slain 10 days ago, was ordered to appear for preliminary hearing in Van Nuys Municipal Court Monday at 1:30 p.m. Arraigned Wednesday on three counts of child molesting, Ward was allowed bail of $25,000 by Municipal Court Judge Francis Cochman. The suspect was then taken to County Jail, where he posted bond and was released at 9 p.m. One count against the tall, gaunt retired barber involved molesting the dead girl, Stephanie Hanna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hanna, 533 Harps St., a year ago."
