Photograph of the belfry at Mission San Juan Capistrano, California, ca.1900. Bell tower (campanario) with bell ringer (El Campanero), Don Ramon Arguello II. He is pulling on the ropes which are attached to three of the four bells. He is the grandson of Don Santiago Arguello after whom San Juan was named "San Juan de Arguello" when the ex-mission was formed into a pueblo in 1841 under Mexico.
