Crabbe was a winning olympian who competed in both 1928 (bronze medalist for the 1,500 metres freestyle) and 1932 (gold medalist for the 400 metres freestyle). In the 1950s, he was a popular film and television actor, who portrayed such characters as Tarzan and Buck Rogers. Riley/Galitzen was the national outdoor 3-meter springboard and platform champion in 1928 and 1929, the indoor 1-meter springboard in 1929, 1931, and 1932, and the indoor 3-meter champion from 1929 through 1931. Representing the University of Southern California, he won the 3-meter springboard championship in 1931 and 1932. He won a silver medal in the 1928 Olympic springboard event and a bronze in the platform. In 1932 he won a gold in the springboard and a silver in the platform. Photograph dated March 25, 1931.
