Photograph caption dated April 15, 1963 reads, "Six out of 10 prizes is the record racked up by customers of Rick Appliances in a big Frigidaire prize-awarding program which covered the entire Southern California area. The store at 4720 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, one of the finest and most progressive in the Valley, conducted a special campaign in co-operation with the manufacturer's promotion and it paid off well for those who visited the store. Roy Rick, owner (center), smiles happily as the winners receive their awards. From left, they are Mr. and Mrs. Charles McErlean of San Fernando, seventh-place winners, a washer; Michael Petler, Burbank, eight place, a dryer; Lois M. Walker, San Fernando, sixth place, a range; Mrs. Michael Petler; Mrs. John Roche, Burbank, fifth place, a range, and Mrs. Gay Kreis of Canoga Park, accepting first place, a refrigerator, for her mother Mrs. J. B. Wassall of North Hollywood. Mrs. Vera Street, North Hollywood, winner of tenth prize, a washer, was not present when photo was taken."
