Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated December 5, 1957 reads "High school girls in the Valley have become hope chest conscious since Patricia Ann Stone, aged 17, junior at North Hollywood High, started the vogue. Now Van Nuys High has taken up the idea. Along comes news that Charlene Turner, 17-year-old junior at Van Nuys High, has joined the hope chest movement. Miss Turner is building her hope chest with Valley Moderne Stainless Tableware. She assembles the coupons daily from the Valley Times. Weekly sets of differently numbered coupons and 96 cents plus tax entitle the bearer to one place six-piece setting of this tableware. Miss Turner is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Charles Turner, 13936 Califa St."
