Mrs. Leontyne King, Library Commissioner, inspects damage from the February 9th, Sylmar earthquake to the Vernon Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, 4504 South Central Avenue. The library was built in 1915 with a Carnegie grant and was demolished in 1974 because of the damage suffered from the earthquake.
