Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated December 7, 1946 reads, "New companion - Richard Frazee, the little Pacoima boy who miraculously survived a huge dose of poison last October, greets his new companion, Midgie, a French bull puppy, in a moment of surprise at his first glimpse of the dog. Donor is Mrs. Ray Johns of Tarzana, organizer of the new Valley Puppy Club for Disabled Children. Richard was the first to receive a puppy from the new club after Mrs. Johns learned of his case through the Valley Times."
