Caption dated December 10, 1964 reads, "UCLA basketball queen Candy Ham wears a crown befitting her title, the rim and netting of an actual basket with colorful pom-poms serving as her royal cloak. This pretty senior coed officially opens her reign this weekend when the Bruins host Arizona State in their Los Angeles Sports Arena openers."
