Description
A woman wears an evening dress from 1812. She wears a short-sleeved empire-waisted white dress. The skirt of the overdress is open at the front, letting the underdress show beneath. Pearls line the edge of the overdress skirt. Seven short strands of blue and pink flowers connect the edges of the skirt to the hem and there are flowers on the top of the bodice. Her sleeves are slit vertically to reveal the fabric beneath. The sleeves are edged with gold. She is adorned with a three strand bead necklace and a white turban with a spray of feathers. She wears white gloves, white shoes, and holds a white fan. Behind her is a red upholstered chaise longue, drapery, and a column.
