Photograph caption dated September 11, 1964 reads, "The Friendly Hand Foundation will benefit from a dinner-dance sponsored by the Pandoras Sept. 26 at Lakeside Country Club in Toluca Lake. Social hour will begin at 7 p.m. Opening Pandora's Box as a symbol of the evening's theme of 'Hope' are Mmes. Roma Barto, left, and Victor McLeod, event chairman, both of Toluca lake, and Sheila Bartlett, reservations chairman, Brentwood. Mrs. McLeod explained that legend says that when Pandora opened the box she found Hope at the bottom. The Friendly Hand Foundation operates Friendly House, 347 S. Normandie Ave., Los Angeles, a home for alcoholic women. Also assisting with arrangements are Mrs. Roger Kelly, North Hollywood, co-chairman, and Mrs. Sam Gold, entertainment.
