Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated November 12, 1953 reads, "A new postage stamp honoring the memory of the late Gen. George S. Patton Jr., Southern California war hero, went on sale in Los Angeles today. The first copy of the stamp was purchased from N. N. Edwards, postal inspector in charge of the Los Angeles postoffice, by Col. W. S. Broberg, chief of the Los Angeles Ordnance District. The stamp carries a picture of the World War II tank commander and the original Patton tank, built by the Army Ordnance Corps. He was born in San Marino, Nov. 11, 1885, and attended Pasadena schools before going to West Point."
