Description
A young woman and a child wear the clothing of Venice during the 16th century. The woman wears a pale yellow, long-sleeved dress with slashing at the elbows, and white gloves. A white chemise with a straight neckline shows in the front of the low scooped neck. Her underskirt is blue and the bottom half of her sleeves are blue, slashed and puffed in narrow rows. She has a red cord sash tied below her waist with a dagger and small pouch hanging at the bottom. She wears a gold necklace made of circles, gold drop earrings, and a snood over her hair. A young boy stands next to her wearing a magenta tunic with yellow sleeves in two sections laced together at the elbow and puffed white undersleeves pulled through the yellow sleeves at the back and elbows. He wears blue tights, yellow shoes, and a blue headband. They stand on a balcony and the boy points at something in the distance. A castle wall and banners can be seen in the background.
