2 columns (37 lines) written on verso across the fibers. Experienced cursive. Lines 19-37 have been cancelled by the ancient scribe by putting the text in parentheses. Recto: empty. Drafts of two official letters from Menches, village secretary of Kerkeosiris, Egypt, to Horos, probably the basilikos grammateus. Both letters report on matters related to an attack on Polemon, the epistates (superintendent) of Kerkeosiris. The first draft is dated year 3 (of P\tolemy IX Soter II), 2nd of the Egyptian month Mecheir (Aug. 18, 114 B.C.) Forms part of: Menches' archive.
