Description
This photograph shows the painting process of the "Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes" at the Hollywood location of the Velaslavasay Panorama at 5553 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90028. The "Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes" depicts an impression of what the Los Angeles Basin might have looked like in the early 19th Century. Reference material for the project included postcards from the early 20th Century, 19th century archival historical images, newspaper woodcuts and contemporary photographs of the LA area and plants.
