Exterior front corner view of the Leonard John Rose Victorian home at 400 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, in 1888. Rose was a San Gabriel Valley rancher at Sunny Slope at Santa Anita, with success in fruit growing, olive oil and wine making, and horse breeding. He left the ranch to live in the Grand Avenue house when it was completed.
