'Brandes' headphones with leather headband and black cloth cord, for use with wireless radio receivers, c.1917. Radio News, 15 October 1919, pg. 152 - Brandes headset advertisement: "Think of the help to wireless operators, that the perfect sensitiveness and dependability of Brandes Headsets provided during the war. Life and death depended upon hearing correctly. They are made today just the same, and give the same quality of service."
