Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes; Photograph also used in article dated June 29, 1961.
Photograph article dated April 25, 1956 partially reads, "The role that won Shirley an Oscar, you all know, was Lulu Bates, the love-for-sale doll in 'Elmer Gantry.' She erased all memories of Shirley as the pink cheeked, pigtailed Laurie, opening the door to mature roles opposite Jimmy Stewart in 'Two Rode Together,' and as Robert Preston's lady fair in 'Music Man.'"
