Photograph caption dated February 29, 1956 reads, "Official after-school practice began this week with the Valley League high schools and here is North Hollywood High's keystone combination, Ronnie Brand, left, shortstop, and Vance Gage, second baseman, getting in some infield practice. There will be two weeks more of prepping, then the first non-league games will be played. The regular league schedule begins Tuesday, April 17."
