Photograph was edited for publication purposes Casa de Cascade, was a carwash located at 14311 Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. The car wash was one of four 'Casa' businesses located at the corner of Ventura and Beverly Glen Boulevard including Casa de Petrol, Casa Burger, and Casa de Cadillac. Of the four business, only the Casa de Cadillac remains. Casa Burger was replaced with a Fatburger restaurant and in 2016, the Casa de Petrol and the Casa de Cascade were demolished to make room for a specialty store development. Photograph article dated March 19, 1963 partially reads, "The gushing waterfall at Casa de Cascade...is strictly the creation of Giovanni Siviglia, an artist and craftsman in stone who learned his trade from his father and grandfather in Sicily. Capable of pouring 500 gallons per minute from the roof of the building to the catch basin below, the gusher is usually operated at less than half of its capacity. Full force, and it tends to splash on freshly laundered automobiles coming off the car wash line. The lower half is white quartz rock from Death Valley, the upper half is petrified wood from Utah. Total weight: 100 tons."
