Photograph caption dated June 8, 1983 reads, "A few punches were thrown yesterday when some Jewish Defense League members confronted about 30 pro-Palestine Liberation Organization demonstrators who were protesting to mark the first anniversary of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. The Committee Against Israeli Occupation of Lebanon demonstrated across the street from the Israeli Consulate, on Wilshire near Fairfax, where police contained the group's members to avoid a violent clash with the JDL."
