Photograph caption dated November 21, 1961 reads "Disc jockey Jim Hawthorne gets in the act when he tosses up ball at center in game between Valley College Monarchs and alumni team at new gym dedication ceremonies. Jumping for ball are Bill Westoby (No. 15) of the Monarchs and Gary Shair (No. 21) of the alumni." Valley College is in Van Nuys. See image 00159808 for additional photo in this series.
