Description
The squares of this quilt are decorated with the embroidered names of the Mayors of San Jose from 1777 to 1977. It was made by Cub Scout Pack 611, affiliated with Buddhist Church San Jose Betsuin. Created as a Bicentennial project, it was presented to Mayor Janet Grey Hayes. Each mayor's name is embroidered on a white block, placed on varied blue backgrounds. All are placed on a dark blue field and ried with red embroidery thread.
