Photograph of the Block Managers meeting at Manzanar Town Hall. Ralph P. Merritt, project director, is in the back row in the middle. The group is posed in front of an American flag. There are at total of 35 people, only one is a woman. Kazuo Shoji is also in the photograph. The collection was donated by Ralph "Pete" Merritt, Jr. and Patricia Merritt. It is comprised of photographs from an album created by L. Josephine Hawes, the Chief Nurse at the Manzanar Hospital, and individual photographs collected by Ralph P. Merritt, the Project Director of the Manzanar War Relocation Center.
