Description
The 600 block of Egan Ave, west side of the street. Rows of new cottages had just been completed in Beaumont. This is part of 115 new structures that were erected in one year. The Cumberland Presbyterian Church is also shown, which is now the Christian Church. This is one of three churches in town. The building record of Beaumont is above any other place of its size in the state and bespeaks the rapid evolution into a young city. Beaumont also had 40,000 acreas of fertile land adjacent to it, which is three times more than is cultivated in orchards around Riverside. Beaumont has enough natural resources to support easily a city of 5000 people.
