Description
This booklet, presented by the Glendale Merchants' Association and printed by Superior Printing Co, Glendale, California, celebrates the virtues of the city of Glendale which was incorporated in 1906. Included essays by local persons of note discuss the history of the area; civic, social and commercial organizations; manufacturing, industry and the local economy; the history of the Glendale Union high school and Glendale grammar schools; and an essay on the California Missions by John Steven McGroarty. Population and school attendance statistics are given in table format. The booklet is richly illustrated with photographs of homes, businesses, street scenes, landscapes and group and individual portraits.
