Description
Civic Center with original Plaza Park fountain, Orange, California, ca. 1981. Image shows view of three-tiered fountain originally decorated with herons, owls and cat-tails and installed in Plaza Park in 1887, later replaced in 1937 by a tile and electric fountain. In 1940 the fountain was moved to the wading pool next to the Plunge in Orange City Park (later renamed Hart Park), and the birds removed. It was later placed in storage, restored in 1981 and installed in front of City Council Chambers on Chapman Avenue.
