Description: The Porter family stands in their garden which appears to be a combination of vegetables and roses. Verso: Mr. and Mrs. Porter come in with the Central Pacific R. R. and for thirty years was employed as pumper for the R. R.. His duty was to keep the tank full with steam pump. And once a week he drove a white horse and cart to Montpielier [Montpellier] to pump for the Branch [R] Road. Their home on present sight [site] of post office.
