Description: Jubal Hains is eating a large slice of watermelon. He reportedly ate twenty pounds of watermelon in seventeen seconds and won the first prize of fifty dollars. Other people can be seen watching him intently. The contest was one of many events in the two day celebration. First held on August 24rh and 25th in 1911, the annual festival became the 38th District Fair in 1934.
