Description
Jack Ramsey, Ray Engelke, and an unidentified woman standing and looking at the chandelier hanging in the former drawing room of Leslie C. Brand's home, El Miradero. At the time of this photograph, El Miradero is being converted into a library and this room will serve as the music reading room. The renovation took place during the mid-1950s, and the library opened in 1956. Original silk wall coverings and leaded glass windows are decorative features of the room. Below the chandelier is a workman's ladder. It is told that this chandelier was once both gas and electric powered. "At Brand Castle deciding what to do with things"--Handwritten caption on verso.
