Description
Contains many photographs of buildings affected by the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. Many of these buildings suffered major damage. There are also correspondence addressed to Lillian Moore, mostly regarding the 1906 earthquake and fire.
1- "Hotel Vendome Annex San Jose after Earthquake". 2- "Back of the Vendome Annex morning of April 19th next day after Earthquake" (4 photos). 3- Two photos of Hotel Vendome destruction and two telegraphs from Charles Moore to his wife on the day of the earthquake. 4- Three telegrams from Charles Moore to his wife, inquiring about her safety and that of their children. 5- One telegram from Charles Moore to a friend (James Crawley) regarding the safety of Mrs. Moore and children; one handwritten letter from James Crawley to Mrs. Moore letting her know that he told Charles that she and the children are safe; one telegram from Charles to Mrs. Moore (Lillian) acknowledging his receipt of the news of their safety and letting her know that he will join them in Los Angeles when work in San Francisco is done. 6- A number of correspondence from friends and family to Lillian Moore. 7- A number of correspondence from friends and family to Lillian Moore. 8- A grocery receipt. 9- A number of correspondence from friends and family to Lillian Moore. 10- A number of correspondence from friends and family to Lillian Moore. 11- A number of correspondence from friends and family to Lillian Moore. 12 and 13- Front page of San Francisco Examiner from April 23, 1906, and of The Oakland Tribune from the same date. 14- "The CC Moore house used as the office"; The CC Moore building just after the Earthquake and before the fire". 15- Two photos of debris removal from the CC Moore Office on First and Mission streets after the fire, June 8 , 1906. 16- "Ruins of CC Moore building from the fire" (3 photos). 17- "Ruins of the CC Moore building after the fire" (3 photos). 18- "Ruins of the CC Moore building from the fire" (3 photos). 19- "Ruins of the CC Moore Bldg after the fire" (3 photos). 20- "Ruins from the fire CC Moore Bldg." (4 photos). 21- Ferry Building construction. 22- Letter showing some figures regarding number of buildings destroyed in earthquake and fire. 23 through 35- Blank.
