Description
Hartnell College, founded in 1920, is one of the early California junior colleges. The La Reata yearbook provides a snapshot into junior college life on the California central coast for this academic year. MPC (Monterey Peninsula College) opened in 1947 and few Monterey Peninsula residents now attend Hartnell College. Students from Santa Cruz County, Gilroy, and the Hawaiian Islands are among the student body. A Young Farmers club is pictured for the first time in the yearbook.
